Staying at the Dog & Gun Inn, Netheravon – Terms & Conditions
At the time of booking, we will normally require full payment of the room costs in advance. No Booking shall be treated as confirmed until either this payment has been provided or an alternative payment arrangement has been confirmed to you in writing by our management team.
Cancellation Policy and No Shows
We will refund accommodation room costs in full as long as the room booking is cancelled with at least 3 days’ notice (i.e. we must be notified by 3pm 3 days before your first scheduled night’s stay). Bookings which are cancelled with only 2 day’s notice (to be given before 3pm 2 days before the arrival date) will be subject to a charge of 50% of the room costs and any cancellations notified after 3pm 2 days before arrival will be subject to the full booking charge including any pre-arranged surcharges.
The prices displayed on our website or other booking websites may vary from time to time and will not be confirmed until a rate is selected by you and confirmed during the online booking process or confirmed to you by one of our customer service representatives. Any meals, service or VAT (at the prevailing rate) are included only if specified. Breakfast is not normally included in the advertised room rate.
Additional charges may apply as follows subject to availability:
Dog surcharge: £10 per stay
Travel cot: £10 per stay
Additional “pop up” bed for third guest: £20 per night
A minimum length of stay, deposit, cancellation charge and other conditions may apply to certain rates, as specified. Prices shall be charged in £ sterling.
The VAT breakdown shown is indicative based on the current rate of VAT, and the expected VAT treatment of the goods or services. VAT will be payable at the prevailing rate applicable at the tax point of the invoice or booking confirmation issued, and may change depending on the actual rate and the VAT treatment of the goods and services purchased at that date.
Price lists for additional items, such as restaurant meals, are on display at relevant locations at the pub and are available on request.
Check-in/ Check-out Requirements
Unless otherwise stated on the booking confirmation, Guests may check-in at any time Tuesday – Saturday between 3.00 p.m – 10pm on the scheduled day of arrival unless otherwise agreed in advance with one of our managers. On Sundays, the main pub closes at 6pm so check in times are from 3pm – 6pm. On Mondays, the main pub remains closed and a convenient check in time will be agreed with the guest in advance of their arrival.
Guests will have full access to their hotel room during Sunday evenings and Mondays when the pub is closed, but no meals, drinks or reception services are available, including breakfast on Monday mornings.
On the day of departure we kindly ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 10.30am (unless a later departure is agreed as part of your Booking). Late check-out after this time can be requested subject to availability.
Rooms are subject to maximum occupancy rules of 2 persons unless otherwise agreed in advance with one of our managers, in which case additional charges will apply.
In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, at the time of check-in, guests may be required to confirm their identity by providing their booking reference; their passport/identity card/driving licence and a valid credit or debit card. If guests are travelling from outside the UK, Ireland or any country in the Commonwealth we are also obliged by law to require guests to provide the number and place of issue of your passport/identity card and details of their next destination. These records will be kept for at least 12 months and may be disclosed or made available for inspection by any police officer or as otherwise required by applicable law in connection with the prevention or investigation of crime. The information above may be requested for each member of your party over the age of 16 and we reserve the right to refuse entry to persons who cannot provide the information set out above.
We accept advance BACs payments and most forms of credit and debit cards. Unfortunately we cannot accept payment of cash sums over £500 or cheques.
All outstanding charges must be paid for in full on check-out.
Changes or Cancellation by the Company
Very occasionally we may need to cancel your booking at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. In such circumstances you will be given a full refund but we shall have no further liability to you arising out of such cancellation. We will, however, use reasonable endeavours to provide recommendations and assistance with finding alternative accommodation.
Your booking is for a class of room and does not guarantee that you will be able to stay in a specific room or in the same room for the duration of your stay. If you have indicated a preference for a particular room we will use our reasonable efforts to honour this preference. However, we may need to allocate an alternative room to you for operational or safety reasons. If we need to move you to a different room during your booking for which a lower rate is available than the rate you booked at, we will refund you the difference in the rates.
We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge you for any damage incurred to your room or the premises during your stay caused by you or your dog (including without limitation specialist cleaning) or for any items that are missing when you leave.
As the pub is an historic building the bedrooms are accessible via a flight of stairs only. These are relatively steep. There are unfortunately no lift facilities. If you have any questions, concerns or requirements about access please contact us to discuss these and we will do all we can to accommodate you.
Whilst we have our own car park, there may be limited spaces available depending on the time of your arrival, as they are taken on a first come first served basis. Spaces may not always be available for the duration of your stay. Alternative free parking is available nearby and our staff will assist you should there be a problem. Vehicles and their contents are left at the owner’s/customer’s own risk. We do not accept responsibility for loss or damage however caused (save as may not be excluded or restricted by applicable law).
Please be aware that you will be staying at a working public house/restaurant which normally has “last orders” at 11pm. On very rare occasions there may be events held within the pub that affect the provision of dinner service or that have a later finishing time. We will make every effort to inform you of such planned events, including any that are arranged after your time of booking that may affect your stay. From time to time there may also be events held in our adjacent Barn, such as weddings. The Barn is soundproofed and we have a strict dispersal policy for event guests leaving the premises.
Guest (and dog!) behaviour
Guests and their dogs are requested to conduct themselves appropriately at all times and to comply with our procedures and/or requests with regard to conduct and respect for the property of the pub, its employees and guests and their health and safety. Guests and their dogs are requested not to disrupt the comfort and enjoyment of other guests, the smooth running of the pub, or cause offence to other guests or our members of staff. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or services or remove you and members of your party from the pub if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision to have been breached. Where this is the case we shall have no obligation to refund you for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expense incurred.
Guests are not permitted to smoke or use e-cigarettes in rooms or public areas. Smoking is also prohibited in the beer garden. There is however a designated smoking area just outside of the beer garden gates.
All children (a person under 16 years of age) staying at the pub must be accompanied by an adult and must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Travel cots are available, however, these are limited and subject to availability. An additional charge of £10 per stay will apply. Please check at the time of booking.
Well behaved dogs are very welcome throughout the downstairs public areas of the pub but must be kept on leads to limit the risk of disturbance to other guests. They are accepted in hotel rooms with prior arrangement and at our discretion, subject to a designated dog friendly room being available. A small surcharge of £10 per stay is payable to cover our additional cleaning costs. Other pets are not permitted at the premises.
We accept no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of our obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a result of any circumstances beyond our reasonable control including, but not limited to, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, fire or failure of electric power, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse of building structures.
Limitation of Liability
The Dog and Gun Inn Ltd (“the Company”) will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any property left in the Hotel other than as required under the Hotel Proprietor’s Act 1956 or any other applicable law.
The Company will not be liable for any indirect, consequential or pure economic loss or any loss of profit, goodwill or opportunity (whether caused by the negligence of the Company, its employees, contractor or agents or otherwise). The Company’s total liability shall not exceed the value of the charges received by it under the Contract.
Nothing contained in these terms or in any other document referred to or incorporated in it shall be read or construed as excluding any liability for death or personal injury caused by the Company’s negligence or liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and any non-contractual obligations arising in connection with it are governed by English law.
The English courts have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any dispute arising in connection with these terms, including disputes relating to any non-contractual obligations.
